When I'm not playing poker I'm....

I live in Dubai so, of course, I now NEVER play poker. Illegal, isn't it? So instead I try to stay out of the sun, read books about poker and save my money to maintain my record for maximum distance travelled to a LPM game (7,000 miles so far).

How did you discover the London Poker Meetup?

A small, elfin child approached me in the middle of an acid flash back and barked like and angry cattle wife. I took this to be my calling to play poker. That, and to stay off the Ketamine.

Do you play online poker? On what sites?

Yes I do, although lately it's been about as profitable as my betfair "Newcastle to win Premiership" wager. Ironically, I first typed that line about 3 years back and it's still accurate. In both regards. Meh. Oooh, PKR is good though.

Have you played live poker before? Where?

Again yes. I've played casino's, home games and tournements in places as far afield as Vegas and Chessington, Newcastle and Budapest, Havana and Bradford. I've lost money with middling hands on 3 continents so far. UPDATE, 4 continents, still losing.

How long have you been playing poker? What first got you into it?

I played my first game at Davey Evans' house when I was 7. We played 5 card draw. But we got bored of high card loses to pair, so we started playing with 3 draws each. We had no idea how to bet, of course. Or at least I didn't.

  •  Just a bit of an arse, really....

    Top bloke mind.

  •  Deported due to the fiersome power contained in his groin, the camels of Arabia now spend their nights on E-bay for bulk orders of butt plugs. Poker is written through Rick like Backpool is through...er....Blackpool Rock.

We'll all be watching when he makes his UFC debut in Vegas in July, as he leaves the Arab states for a few weeks to allow the camels to dry out.

A gent. A funny man. A damn good poker player. Sadly missed.

  •  Finally, someone with a worse poker obsession than me! Two Shirts redefines the word 'aggression' at the table, but is affable with it, a rare (and at times expensive, if you're in a hand with him) combination. Git. He has a poker blog too, and actually puts stuff on it semi-regularly rather than just in the days running up to the Bloggers freeroll on 'Stars. My player notes on him simply say 'FILTH!!'
